Documentation Requirement
Valid Passport
Your passport must be good for at least six months after the date you apply. Bring certified copies of all pages that have stamps or visas.
NIF (Tax Identification Number)

Starting in April 2025, everyone who wants to apply for a Portuguese residence permit must have a Portuguese social security number. Criminal Record Certificate
Get certificates from your home country and any country where you've lived for more than a year in the last five years. Apostille certification is needed for documents to be recognized around the world.
Statement from the Bank

Health Insurance
Coverage is good in Portugal if you have at least €30,000 in medical expenses. The policy must cover the whole time you are there. You can't use travel insurance; you need health insurance for long-term residents.
Accommodation Proof
A rental agreement, property deed, or invitation letter from a Portuguese resident. The address must be clear and able to be checked by the police. AIMA needs proof of stable, long-term housing, which is usually a registered lease for at least a year. Short-term rentals, like those on Airbnb, are not allowed. The Portugal Entrepreneur Visa Application Process
Step 1: Write a Business Plan
Make sure to include detailed information about how your business will be innovative, scalable, and have a lot of market potential. Set aside 4 to 6 weeks for good planning.
Step 2: Choose an Incubator
Look for certified incubators that fit your industry and location preferences. Send your first project inquiry to 3–5 options at the same time.
Step 3: Get the Incubator's Approval
Show your plan to the selected incubator. Talk about the terms and sign the incubation contract. The incubator sends its approval to the Government platform.
Step 4: Government Certification
The agency looks over the incubator's recommendation and the business's chances of success. It usually takes 30 business days to get approval, and the Declaration of Acceptance is good for 180 days.
Step 5: Make an Appointment at the Consulate
Make an appointment for your visa at the Portuguese consulate in your country. Bring in your papers and go to the interview. The consulate gives out a four-month entry visa that lets you enter Portugal twice. This first visa does NOT give you permission to live in Portugal; it only lets you enter the country and start the process of getting a residence permit.
Step 6: Enter Portugal and AIMA Appointment
