Do I need a rental contract for my Portugal visa application?

Yes. Portuguese consulates require proof of accommodation — normally a 12-month rental lease registered with Finanças, or property ownership — as part of every D7, D8, and D2 application. We source visa-compliant leases and ensure the contract meets consulate requirements before you sign.

Can foreigners buy property in Portugal?

Yes — there are no restrictions on foreigners buying property in Portugal. You need a NIF number and a Portuguese bank account. Note that since October 2023, buying property no longer qualifies for the Golden Visa, but ownership still counts as proof of accommodation for D7, D8, and D2 visas.
